Orders & Personalization

How do I add personalization?

On eligible products, use the Personalization box on the product page. We handwrite your text in black ink, exactly as you type it, so please double-check spelling and capitalization.

Do you send a proof before writing?

No. To keep orders moving quickly, we don’t send proofs for handwritten personalization.

Can I change or cancel after ordering?

Yes—within 2 hours of placing the order. After that, your item may already be in process.

Is there a character limit?

Most messages fit. If we think there’s an issue with length or layout, we’ll contact you before writing.

Do you offer gift options?

  • Gift messages: Yes, free (Will include a card with the order.)
  • Gift wrap: Not available at this time

Where do you ship?

USA only (from Florida). Our address is FOB only; not open to the public.

What are the shipping options and costs?

We use Flat-Rate Shipping (shown at checkout).
Everyday Special: Free Shipping on Orders over $100 and Free Shipping when you purchase 5+ items.

When will my order ship?

  • Ornaments & décor: usually ship in 2–3 business days.
  • Bells on leather: handcrafted; usually ship in 1–2 weeks.
    If your cart includes both, we may ship together on the longer timeline.

Holiday deadline

For Christmas delivery, please order by December 18.

How do I track my order?

You’ll receive an email with tracking as soon as your order ships.

Returns & Exchanges

Can I return personalized items?

Because they’re made just for you, personalized items aren’t returnable, except for defects or damage in shipping. If there’s a problem, contact us promptly and we’ll make it right.

What about non-personalized items?

Return within 30 days, unused and in original packaging.
Return shipping: Customer pays for change-of-mind returns; Wit & Hil covers shipping for defective/damaged items.

Products & Care

What’s the difference between Goldtone, Silvertone, Solid Brass, and Chrome bells?

  • Goldtone = brass-plated for a bright
    golden look.
  • Silvertone = nickel-plated for a bright silver look.
  • Solid Brass has natural heft and can be polished to restore shine.
    Finish and material can lead to slight differences in tone and patina over time.
  • Chrome = Brilliant silver

How do I care for leather straps and bells?

Keep out of direct sun and harsh weather. Wipe bells with a clean, dry, soft cloth.
For solid brass, you may use a brass polish.
Leather can be softened with leather balm (note: it may darken the leather).

Do doorhangers work as a door alert?

Yes—many customers enjoy the gentle jingle as a decorative door chime/burglar alert.

What payment methods do you accept?

Major credit cards via Shopify. We’re also enabling Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal for a faster checkout.
Sales tax is calculated automatically at checkout based on your shipping address.

Do you offer bulk or corporate gifts?
